Turkish Cypriot Women’s Project
Providing culturally sensitive services and facilities to disadvantaged Turkish Cypriot/Turkish/Kurdish women. Services include:
*Housing Related Support - advice and support to Haringey Council residents under Homes for Haringey. Women who have signed up thave the choice of seeing two dedicated workers, working under the supervision of the Co-ordinator.
*Older People Project - support and empower marginalised older people to improve their social, health and economic well-being and prevent isolation. They provide a weekly Luncheon Club for Turkish speaking elderly to socialise and interact with each other. Fridays: 10.00am-1.30pm
*Volunteers - women are inspirational role models, but as a result of some form of oppression they have faced in their lives, they tend to undermine their own skills and experiences. They encourage women to actively participate in volunteering. This helps women to develop and extend their knowledge and inevitably build confidence to proceed with other life goals.
